Malaysia to Liberia visa requirements

Malaysian passport holders need a visa for Liberia. The practical route is Liberia's Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVOA), launched 11 March 2025: apply and pay online before travel, then collect the visa at Roberts International Airport in Monrovia. Liberia is NOT visa-free for ordinary Malaysian passport holders. Liberia's visa-exemption list is limited mainly to ECOWAS member states, and Malaysia is not included. Since March 2025, the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) operates an Electronic Visa on Arrival (eVOA) system at visaonarrival.lis.gov.lr. Travelers register, upload their passport bio page, a passport photo and (optionally) a flight ticket, pay USD 102.50 online, and receive a PDF approval with a QR code by email. The approval is valid for 3 months for a single entry; immigration officers grant either a 30-day or 90-day stay on arrival. The eVOA is currently only available at Roberts International Airport (ROB) in Monrovia, not at land borders. There is no Liberian embassy physically in Malaysia (consular jurisdiction sits with the Embassy of Liberia in Tokyo, Japan, which is accredited to Malaysia), so the online eVOA is the standard and most practical channel for Malaysian travelers. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry to Liberia. Because the verdict can shift if a Liberian mission opens in Malaysia or if eVOA rules change, travelers should reconfirm on the official LIS portal before booking.
