Malaysia to India visa requirements

Malaysian passport holders need an India visa, but the 30-day double-entry e-Tourist visa is gratis until 31 Dec 2026. Malaysian ordinary passport holders need a visa or e-Visa before travelling to India; India does not give Malaysians a general visa-on-arrival. Malaysia is e-Visa eligible, and the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur says Malaysian nationals receive a 30-day double-entry e-Tourist visa on a gratis basis (no visa fee) from 1 July 2024 to 31 December 2026. India's February 2026 country fee chart matches this: Malaysia is USD 0 for both 30-day e-Tourist seasons, USD 40 for the 1-year e-Tourist visa, and USD 200 for the 5-year e-Tourist visa. The official e-Visa portal says applicants for 1-year/5-year e-Tourist and other e-Visa categories should apply at least 4 days before arrival and up to 120 days in advance, and that e-Visa holders may enter only through designated airports and seaports but depart from any Indian immigration check post. The 30-day e-Tourist visa is not extendable or convertible; OCI cardholders are outside this visa route because OCI is mandatory for persons of Indian origin who use OCI status.
