🇲🇾Malaysia🇨🇮Côte d'IvoireMY-CI Malaysia to Côte d'Ivoire visa requirements
Malaysian passport holders need a visa for Côte d'Ivoire, but can apply online for the official e-visa (pre-enrollment) and collect it with biometric enrollment on arrival at Abidjan's Félix-Houphouët-Boigny (Port Bouet) International Airport. A Malaysia ordinary passport holder cannot enter Côte d'Ivoire visa-free for tourism. Côte d'Ivoire's visa-exemption list covers ECOWAS states and a handful of others (including Singapore and the Philippines), but Malaysia is not on it. Instead, Malaysians use the official online e-visa run by SNEDAI (snedai.com). You complete an online pre-enrollment, pay roughly EUR 73, and receive an approval within about 48 hours. The approval is not a visa to print at home: you must travel to Abidjan's Félix-Houphouët-Boigny (Port Bouet) International Airport, where biometric data is captured and the physical visa is issued on arrival. Because of this, the e-visa is only valid for air arrival at Abidjan; overland entry from neighbours such as Ghana, Liberia or Mali requires a traditional paper visa obtained in advance from an Ivorian diplomatic mission. The e-visa is multiple-entry with a validity window of about 90 days; tourist stays are short (commonly up to 30 days per entry, with sources also citing up to 90 days total). A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for all travellers aged 9 months and over, and the passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Côte d'Ivoire is in West Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Verdict: e-visa required.
