Do Mexico passport holders need a visa to visit Thailand?
Mexican ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourism in Thailand. You enter under the visa exemption scheme. As of 30 May 2026 the grant is 60 days (extendable once by 30 days); a Cabinet-approved reduction to 30 days is pending and will apply once published in the Royal Gazette. Mexico is on Thailand's visa exemption list, so a Mexican citizen with an ordinary passport may travel to Thailand for tourism without obtaining a visa in advance. Since the July 2024 expansion, the visa-exempt stay has been up to 60 days, extendable once at a Thai Immigration office for a further 30 days. On 19 May 2026 the Thai Cabinet approved cutting the standard visa-free stay to 30 days for a slimmed-down list of 54 countries — Mexico remains on that list — but the change is NOT yet in force: it takes effect 15 days after publication in the Royal Gazette, which had not occurred as of 30 May 2026. Travelers entering now still receive 60 days. Regardless of the stay length, all foreign arrivals must complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before arrival. Passports must be valid at least 6 months, and immigration may ask for proof of onward travel and proof of funds (about 20,000 THB per person / 40,000 THB per family).
