Mexico to Guyana visa requirements

Mexican ordinary passport holders need a visa to enter Guyana for tourism. They are NOT on Guyana's visa-exempt list. The practical route is an eVisa / "approval letter" obtained in advance from Guyana's Department of Immigration and Citizenship, which is then collected as a Visitor Visa on Arrival (USD 25). One exception: Mexicans who already hold a valid US, Canadian, or Schengen visa, or a US Permanent Resident card, may enter visa-free for up to 90 days. As of 2026, an ordinary Mexican passport does not grant visa-free access to Guyana. Both Wikipedia's visa policy of Guyana and the official Embassy of Guyana visa-exemption list confirm that Mexico is exempt only for Diplomatic/Official/Service passports, or for ordinary-passport holders who carry a valid US, Canadian, or Schengen visa (or a US Permanent Resident card), in which case visa-free stays of up to 90 days are permitted. A regular Mexican tourist without those documents must obtain a visa. Guyana does not operate a fully automated online eVisa; instead, prospective visitors apply through the Immigration Support Services eServices portal and/or contact the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to receive an approval letter (eVisa). With that approval, a Visitor Visa on Arrival is issued at the port of entry for short stays under three months, costing USD 25 (or USD 35 expedited). Because access is conditional and requires advance arrangement, the conservative and accurate verdict for a regular Mexican passport is visa-required. Guyana is in South America and is not part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180 Schengen rule and ETIAS do not apply.
