Do Mexico passport holders need a visa to visit Finland?
Mexican ordinary passport holders can travel to Finland visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. No visa is needed before travel as of 30 May 2026. Finland is a member of the Schengen Area, and Mexico is on the EU's visa-exempt (Annex II) list. This means a Mexican ordinary passport holder may enter Finland and the wider Schengen Area for tourism, business, or transit without a visa, for a maximum of 90 days within any rolling 180-day period. You must hold a passport valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure and issued within the last 10 years, and you may be asked at the border for proof of onward/return travel, sufficient funds, accommodation, and travel medical insurance. A key upcoming change: the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026. Once mandatory, Mexican travelers will need to obtain an approved ETIAS authorisation online (around EUR 20, free for under-18s and over-70s) before traveling. As of 30 May 2026, ETIAS is NOT yet required, so visa-free entry currently needs only a valid passport. The Entry/Exit System (EES) biometric border registration is also being rolled out at Schengen external borders.
