Do Mexico passport holders need a visa to visit China?
Mexicans need a Chinese visa. Apply at the Chinese embassy in Mexico City or CVASC. Mexican passport holders need a Chinese visa to enter China — Mexico is not on China's unilateral visa-free list (China has so far added Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay in Latin America, but not Mexico). Mexican travellers must apply for a regular L (tourist), F (business), Z (work), X (student), or Q (family) visa from the Chinese embassy in Mexico City or via CVASC. The standard L tourist visa is valid up to 90 days from issue with single or double entry, allowing 30-60 days per stay. Aeromexico and Hainan Airlines have explored direct Mexico City–Beijing/Shanghai routes; most Mexican travellers connect via Los Angeles, Tokyo, Vancouver, Madrid, or Frankfurt. The standard fee is USD 30 (single entry) or USD 60 (multi-entry). Mexico-China bilateral trade has been growing rapidly and there have been diplomatic discussions about future visa-free arrangements — but as of 2026 no agreement is in place.

For guidance only — visa rules change with little notice. Always confirm directly with the destination's embassy or foreign ministry before booking non-refundable travel. Information here applies to ordinary (non-diplomatic) passports unless noted.
