Mexico to Burundi visa requirements

Mexican passport holders need a visa for Burundi. The recommended route is the official eVisa from the General Commissariat for Migration (migration.gov.bi); visa-on-arrival is also available at Bujumbura airport and land borders. A 1-month entry costs USD 90, plus a mandatory yellow fever vaccination certificate. A Mexico (MX) ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-exempt for Burundi. Only six neighboring African states (DR Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda) enter visa-free. Mexican tourists must obtain a visa, and Burundi offers two channels: an electronic visa (eVisa) applied for online through the official General Commissariat for Migration portal at migration.gov.bi, and a visa on arrival available at Melchior Ndadaye International Airport in Bujumbura and at all land borders. The eVisa is the recommended, lower-risk option because it confirms authorization before departure and avoids queues and payment issues at the border. The standard short-stay product is a 1-month entry for USD 90 (multiple entry, renewable in-country up to twice). A transit visa (3 days) is USD 40, and a short Sejour visa is charged at USD 10 per 5 days. Beyond the visa, Burundi requires a passport valid at least 6 months with a blank page and, critically, a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate, which is enforced on arrival. Burundi is in East Africa and has no connection to the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
