Do Mexico passport holders need a visa to visit BE?
No visa needed. Mexican ordinary passport holders can enter Belgium and the wider Schengen Area visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism. Belgium is part of the Schengen Area, and Mexico is on the EU's visa-exempt list for short stays. As of 30 May 2026, holders of an ordinary Mexican passport can travel to Belgium for tourism without a visa for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. The passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure date and issued within the previous 10 years. Since 10 April 2026, the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is fully operational, so travellers register fingerprints and a facial image at the external Schengen border automatically (no advance application). The new ETIAS travel authorisation is expected to launch in the last quarter of 2026; once live it will be a mandatory pre-travel online step (about EUR 7, valid 3 years) for visa-exempt nationals including Mexicans — but it is NOT yet required today. Travellers should still carry proof of onward/return travel, accommodation, sufficient funds, and travel medical insurance, as border officers may request these.
