🇰🇷SOUTH KOREA🇹🇼TAIWANKR-TW Do South Korea passport holders need a visa to visit Taiwan?
Visa-free up to 90 days under reciprocity. eGate registration available for fast clearance. Korean ordinary passport holders enter Taiwan visa-free for up to 90 days per entry under the reciprocal visa exemption arrangement between Taiwan and Korea. The exemption covers tourism, business meetings, family visits, and transit. There is no online pre-arrival authorization required for Korean visitors — Taiwan operates an Entry Permit system but only for nationalities that need it (Hong Kong, Macau, and others on the limited list). Korean passport holders can register for the free eGate at Taoyuan, Songshan, Kaohsiung, or Taichung airports for 10-second auto-gate clearance on subsequent entries. The 90-day stay can be extended once in-country at the National Immigration Agency for an additional 90 days (NT$300 per extension), bringing the maximum stay to 180 days. For work, study, journalism, or stays beyond that the corresponding ROC visa is required at the Taipei Mission in Seoul.
