South Korea to Tajikistan visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders need a visa for Tajikistan. The fastest and recommended route is the official Tajikistan e-Visa (evisa.tj): a single-entry tourist e-Visa costs USD 30, is valid for 90 days from issue, and permits a stay of up to 60 days. There is no general visa-free entry for South Korean ordinary passports (only diplomatic/service passports are exempt). As of 2026, a South Korea (KR) ordinary passport holder traveling to Tajikistan (TJ) for tourism must obtain a visa before entry. Tajikistan operates an official electronic visa system at evisa.tj run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is the practical and recommended option for South Korean tourists. The standard single-entry tourist e-Visa costs USD 30 (multiple-entry USD 50), is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, and allows a total stay of up to 60 days. An optional GBAO permit (USD 20) is required only for travel to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (the Pamir Highway/Pamir mountains). Online processing typically takes 1-3 business days, though applicants are advised to apply 2 weeks ahead. South Korea is NOT on Tajikistan's unilateral visa-free list for ordinary passports (the March 2024 expansion added other countries but not Korea); only Korean diplomatic and service passport holders enjoy visa-free entry of up to 90 days. A traditional sticker visa from the Tajik Embassy in Seoul is also available but slower and more expensive (around USD 52), so the e-Visa is preferred.
