South Korea to Palestinian Territory visa requirements

Palestine has no visa system of its own. Foreign tourists reach the West Bank through Israeli-controlled crossings, so Israel's entry rules apply. South Korean ordinary passport holders are visa-exempt for Israel (up to 90 days), but since 1 January 2025 they must obtain an approved ETA-IL electronic travel authorization before arrival. Gaza is effectively closed to tourists. A South Korea ordinary passport holder cannot get a "Palestinian visa" because the State of Palestine does not operate an independent immigration or visa regime for foreigners. Access to the West Bank (where the main tourist sites such as Bethlehem, Jericho and Ramallah are located) is controlled by the Government of Israel, while the Gaza Strip is controlled by Hamas and is effectively inaccessible to ordinary tourists. In practice this means a Korean traveler enters via Israel — either by air through Ben Gurion Airport (Tel Aviv) or by land via the Allenby/King Hussein Bridge from Jordan — and uses the Israeli tourist entry permit to move into Palestinian Authority areas. South Korea and Israel have a long-standing reciprocal visa-waiver arrangement allowing Korean nationals to enter for tourism for up to 90 days without a traditional visa. However, since 1 January 2025 all visa-exempt nationals, including South Koreans, must hold an approved ETA-IL (Israel Electronic Travel Authorization) before boarding a flight or arriving in Israel. The ETA-IL costs 25 NIS (about USD 7), is valid for two years (or until the passport expires) and allows multiple entries of up to 90 days each; most approvals are issued quickly but it can take up to 72 hours. Israel no longer stamps passports — travelers receive a separate paper entry slip that serves as the tourist permit for both Israel and Palestinian areas. Because the operative pre-travel requirement for a short tourist visit is the ETA-IL authorization, the verdict is classified as "eta". Travelers should monitor security conditions, as land crossings and access to specific areas can change at short notice.
