South Korea to Mongolia visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders can travel to Mongolia visa-free for tourism and stay up to 90 days. This exemption is currently extended through 31 December 2026. South Korea and Mongolia have a temporary unilateral visa-waiver arrangement under which holders of ordinary Korean passports may enter Mongolia without a visa and stay for up to 90 days per visit for tourism and short visits. The exemption originally took effect on 1 June 2022 and has been extended; it is valid until 31 December 2026. No visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is needed for a short tourist stay within that window. Travelers should still carry a passport valid for at least six months, proof of onward/return travel, and evidence of accommodation and funds. One important condition applies: anyone staying in Mongolia for more than 30 days (including visa-free visitors) must register with the Mongolia Immigration Agency in Ulaanbaatar within the first 7 days of arrival; failure to register can result in fines and exit problems. Because this is a time-limited measure rather than a permanent bilateral treaty, travelers planning trips in 2027 or later should re-check the policy before departure, as Mongolia reviews and renews these exemptions periodically.
