South Korea to Kyrgyzstan visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders can visit Kyrgyzstan visa-free for tourism. No visa, eVisa, or pre-approval is needed. As of 1 January 2026 the visa-free allowance was reduced to a maximum cumulative stay of 30 days within any 60-day period (down from the previous 60 days). Kyrgyzstan grants unilateral visa-free access to South Korean (Republic of Korea) ordinary passport holders for short tourist visits. Travelers can enter without applying for any visa in advance and without a letter of invitation. Under Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 855, which entered into force on 31 December 2025 / 1 January 2026, South Korea is one of 55 countries (alongside the US, UK, EU states, Japan, Canada, Australia and others) whose visa-free allowance was shortened from 60 days to a maximum of 30 calendar days within any rolling 60-day period. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs page, last dated in early 2025, still lists Korea at "up to 60 days," but multiple 2026 advisories and immigration-law sources confirm the reduced 30-in-60 limit is now in effect, so travelers should plan around 30 days. The passport should be valid for the duration of stay (six months validity is widely recommended), and proof of onward travel may be requested. No arrival registration is required for short stays; registration with the State Registration Service is only needed if the continuous stay exceeds the visa-free limit or for longer stays. Kyrgyzstan is in Central Asia and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
