South Korea to Bangladesh visa requirements

South Korean ordinary passport holders can get a visa on arrival (VOA) in Bangladesh for tourism — single entry, up to 30 days, USD 51 cash at the airport. A visa in advance is also possible and is the safer option since VOA is discretionary. A South Korea (KR) ordinary passport holder is NOT visa-exempt for Bangladesh, but qualifies for a visa on arrival (VOA) for tourism. Bangladesh grants VOA to nationals of a defined list of countries (including South Korea, the US, Canada, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, EU states and Gulf states) for tourism, business, investment or official duty. The VOA is single-entry, valid for a maximum stay of 30 days (extendable once by 30 days at the Department of Immigration and Passports in Dhaka), and costs USD 51 (or EUR 51) paid in cash on arrival, taxes included. It is available at the three international airports — Dhaka (Hazrat Shahjalal), Chittagong (Shah Amanat) and Sylhet (Osmani) — and, with much greater discretion and risk of delay/refusal, at some land ports. Crucially, VOA issuance is at the sole discretion of the immigration officer at the port of entry, and approval is never guaranteed even when all documents are in order. Travelers must show a passport valid at least six months, a confirmed onward/return ticket, hotel booking, the cash fee, and proof of funds (at least about USD 500 equivalent). Because of the discretionary nature of VOA, many South Korean tourists instead apply for an e-/regular tourist visa in advance through the Bangladesh High Commission in Seoul or the online MRV portal (visa.gov.bd); advance tourist visas are commonly single-entry for a 30-day stay. Bangladesh is not in the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply. As of 2026-06-01, no mutual visa-waiver exists for KR ordinary passports (only diplomatic/official passport holders enjoy a 30-day visa exemption), so the best single fit for a short tourist stay is visa on arrival.
