🇯🇵Japan🇹🇼Taiwan (Chinese Taipei)JP-TW Japan to Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) visa requirements
Visa-free up to 90 days. Complete the free Taiwan Arrival Card online before arrival. Japanese passports need only cover the intended stay. Japanese ordinary passport holders enter Taiwan visa-free for up to 90 days for tourism, family visits, transit, social visits, and short business meetings or other activities that do not require a separate permit. Taiwan's Bureau of Consular Affairs lists Japan in the 90-day visa-exempt group and states that Japan nationals are eligible with a passport valid for the intended period of stay, not a six-month validity rule. From October 1, 2025, the National Immigration Agency replaced paper arrival cards with the free online Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC); foreign visitors entering under visa exemption must complete it before immigration clearance, normally within three days before arrival.
