Japan to Sudan visa requirements

A Japanese ordinary passport holder needs a visa to enter Sudan for tourism. There is no visa-free entry, no eVisa, and no visa on arrival. The visa must be obtained in advance from the Embassy of Sudan in Tokyo (single-entry fee 6,000 yen). Note: Sudan has been in armed conflict since April 2023 and most governments warn against all travel. Sudan is not on any Japanese visa-waiver list and offers no eVisa or visa-on-arrival channel for Japanese tourists. A Japanese ordinary passport holder must obtain an entry visa in advance from the Embassy of Sudan in Tokyo before travelling. According to the embassy's official consular page, a tourist/entry visa requires two signed application forms, two photos, a passport valid at least six months with two blank pages, flight booking, itinerary, and a letter of guarantee. The single-entry visa costs 6,000 yen (paid in cash), is valid for two months from issuance, and permits a maximum stay of one month. Processing takes at least two business days. Multiple-entry visas can only be applied for inside Sudan. Travelers should be aware that since April 2023 Sudan has been engulfed in armed conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces; Khartoum International Airport has only limited operations, many foreign missions have suspended consular services, and Japan's MOFA and most governments maintain the highest "do not travel / evacuate" advisory. Tourist travel is effectively not advised regardless of visa status.
