Japan to Morocco visa requirements

Japanese ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Morocco. They may enter visa-free and stay for up to 90 days per entry. Morocco grants visa-free entry to holders of ordinary Japanese passports for short stays of up to 90 days for tourism, business, or family visits. No advance application, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required for Japanese nationals. Travelers simply present a valid passport on arrival at a Moroccan port of entry. Morocco is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply; the 90-day allowance is specific to Morocco. Note that Morocco operates an electronic travel authorization (AEVM, via acces-maroc.ma) and ran a temporary requirement for eight African nationalities tied to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Sept 2025 to Jan 2026); this did NOT apply to Japan, and Japanese citizens remain visa-free as of mid-2026. Morocco has signaled it may eventually extend AEVM to all visa-exempt nationalities, so travelers should re-check before departure. Standard entry conditions apply: a passport valid at least six months beyond entry, proof of onward/return travel, accommodation details, and sufficient funds. The 90-day stay can be extended at a local police station before it expires.
