Japan to Colombia visa requirements

No visa needed. Japanese ordinary passport holders can enter Colombia visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. You must complete the free online Check-MIG registration before flying. Holders of an ordinary Japanese passport do not need a visa to visit Colombia for tourism or short business. On arrival, Migracion Colombia grants a Permiso de Ingreso y Permanencia (PIP) stamp valid for up to 90 days. This can be extended once at a Migracion Colombia office (Prorroga de Permanencia / PTP), but total tourist time may not exceed 180 days within a single calendar year. There is no entry visa fee. The only mandatory pre-travel step for air arrivals is the free Check-MIG online form, completed within 72 hours to 1 hour before the flight on the official Migracion Colombia portal (apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/check-mig); beware of third-party sites that charge for this free form. Travelers should hold a passport valid for the duration of stay, proof of onward or return travel, and evidence of sufficient funds. Travel insurance is recommended but not mandatory. This visa-free arrangement has been stable for Japanese nationals and is unaffected by any 2024-2026 policy changes.
