Japan to Botswana visa requirements

Japanese ordinary passport holders can enter Botswana visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days within any 365-day period. No visa or eVisa is required in advance. Japan is on Botswana's list of visa-exempt countries. An ordinary Japanese passport holder may travel to Botswana for tourism, business, or short private visits without any visa, staying up to 90 days within a rolling 12-month (365-day) period. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months and have at least one blank page. There is no advance application, no eVisa, and no fee for this visa-free entry; an entry stamp is issued at the port of entry (e.g. Sir Seretse Khama International Airport in Gaborone or Kasane). Travelers should carry proof of sufficient funds, onward/return travel, and accommodation details. A Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is required only if arriving from or transiting a Yellow-Fever-risk country. Botswana operates an eVisa system, but this is for nationals NOT on the visa-exempt list; Japanese citizens do not need it for short tourist stays. Botswana is in Southern Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so Schengen 90/180 and ETIAS rules do not apply.
