🇯🇵Japan🇦🇪United Arab EmiratesJP-AE Japan to United Arab Emirates visa requirements
Japanese ordinary passport holders do not need an advance visa for the UAE. They receive a free 90-day multiple-entry visit permission on arrival for short visits. Japanese ordinary passport holders can travel to the United Arab Emirates without arranging a visa before departure for tourism, family visits, transit, or short business meetings. UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and GDRFA Dubai pages list Japan among visa-free or visa-on-arrival eligible nationalities, and Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs records that the UAE introduced a visa-waiver measure for valid Japanese passports from 1 August 2024 for short stays not exceeding 90 days. Emirates' operational visa page places Japan in the free 90-day visit category: the passport is stamped with a multiple-entry visit visa valid for 6 months from issue and allowing 90 days of stay in total. Carry a Japanese ordinary passport valid for at least six months, a return or onward ticket, accommodation details, and proof of funds if asked. This visitor permission does not allow employment, residence, or formal study. If more time is needed, check eligibility with ICP/GDRFA before the stay expires; ICP lists entry-permit extension channels, fees, and AED 50 per day overstay fines, but extension availability depends on the entry-permit category and authority decision.
