Italy to Vanuatu visa requirements

No visa is required. Italian ordinary passport holders can enter Vanuatu visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days. You just need a valid passport, proof of onward/return travel, and proof of sufficient funds. Italy is on Vanuatu's visa-exempt list, so Italian ordinary passport holders travel to Vanuatu visa-free for short tourist visits. On arrival you receive a visitor permit allowing a stay of up to 30 days, with the possibility of extending or applying for a longer tourist visa (up to 120 days total) through Vanuatu's immigration authorities for family, tourism, or business-meeting purposes. There is no fee, no online application, and no pre-arrival approval required for the standard 30-day entry. Important context: in December 2024 the European Council fully ended the EU-Vanuatu visa-waiver agreement, but that change affects Vanuatu passport holders travelling to the Schengen area, NOT Italians travelling to Vanuatu. Vanuatu is not in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply here. At the border you must show a passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and evidence of sufficient funds. Entry remains at the discretion of the immigration officer, and airlines may require proof of onward travel before boarding.
