Italy to Chad visa requirements

Italian passport holders need a visa for Chad. As of 2026, the only valid route for a short tourist stay is the official Chad eVisa, applied for online before travel at evisa.td. Paper visas issued outside the official platform are no longer accepted for entry. Italy is not on Chad's visa-exempt list, so Italian ordinary passport holders require a visa to enter Chad for tourism. Chad launched its government electronic visa system (evisa.td) on 11 December 2024, and in 2026 the eVisa became the mandatory channel: visas issued outside the official online platform no longer permit entry. Travelers apply online, upload supporting documents (passport valid at least 6 months, photo, return/onward ticket, proof of accommodation), pay the fee, and receive an electronic visa typically within about 10 business days. The standard tourist eVisa is a single-entry, 30-day stay valid for entry within 30 days of issue. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required (Chad is in a yellow fever endemic zone). All visitors must also complete mandatory police registration within 72 hours of arrival. Chad is not in the Schengen area, so the 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
