Italy to Suriname visa requirements

Italian ordinary passport holders need an online e-Tourist Card (plus an entry fee) to visit Suriname for tourism - it must be obtained before travel and is no longer available on arrival. Italy is one of roughly 44 nationalities eligible for Suriname's e-Tourist Card, an electronic travel authorization for short tourist, leisure and family visits. It is applied for online through VFS Global (the official partner of the Government of Suriname) and must be secured before departure - it cannot be bought on arrival (a rule in force since 2020). The e-Tourist Card is single entry and permits a stay of up to 90 days. In addition to the card fee (about USD 25), travelers must also pay a separate mandatory Entry Fee (USD 50 / EUR 50) online via the same VFS platform before arrival. Travelers needing multiple entries must instead apply for a multiple-entry tourist visa. A passport valid for at least 6 months with two blank pages and a return/onward ticket are required. Suriname is in South America and is not part of the Schengen area, so the 90/180 Schengen rule and ETIAS do not apply. Because there is no genuine no-visa channel - an electronic authorization is mandatory before boarding - the route is classified as an eVisa requirement.
