Italy to Senegal visa requirements

Italian (EU) passport holders do NOT need a visa for Senegal. You can enter visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days, with no advance application or fee. Just bring a passport valid for at least 6 months and proof of onward travel. As of June 2026, holders of an ordinary Italian passport enjoy visa-free entry to Senegal for short tourist stays of up to 90 days. Senegal grants visa exemption to all European Union member states (alongside ECOWAS members and roughly 50 other nations), so no visa, e-visa, or visa-on-arrival is required before travel. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry, ideally with two to three blank pages, and should carry proof of onward or return travel and accommodation. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required only if arriving from (or transiting) a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Note one important development to watch: in mid-2025 Senegal's government announced a reciprocity-based electronic visa for nationals of countries that require visas of Senegalese citizens (which, in principle, could include EU/Schengen states). However, as of mid-2026 this measure has not been operationally rolled out for European travelers, exact fees and a public application portal have not been confirmed, and EU members — including Italy — continue to be listed as visa-exempt. Travelers should re-verify with the Senegalese Embassy or France-Visas shortly before departure, as policy could change.
