🇮🇹Italy🇸🇧Solomon IslandsIT-SB Italy to Solomon Islands visa requirements
No visa required. Italian ordinary passport holders can travel to the Solomon Islands for tourism without a visa and receive a free visitor permit on arrival, valid for stays of up to 3 months within any 12-month period. Italy and the Solomon Islands have a mutual short-stay visa waiver: an EU-wide visa-exemption arrangement covering all EU member states (except Ireland) took effect on 7 October 2016. As a result, Italian citizens holding an ordinary passport do not need to obtain a visa in advance for tourism or short visits. On arrival at Honiara (Henderson International Airport), eligible travellers are issued a free visitor permit. This permit allows a stay of up to three months in aggregate within any twelve-month period. There is no fee for the standard tourist visitor permit. Travellers must satisfy normal entry conditions: a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of departure with blank pages for stamps, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and evidence of sufficient funds for the stay. The visitor permit is for tourism and short visits only; paid employment, business beyond 30 days, religious work, or research require separate prior approval from the relevant Solomon Islands authority. The Solomon Islands is not part of the Schengen Area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to this route. Visitors who wish to remain longer than three months may apply to extend the permit for up to an additional three months where special circumstances justify it. Always reconfirm requirements with the Solomon Islands Immigration Division or your carrier before travel, as airlines verify documents at check-in.
