Yes. A valid Italian national identity card (carta d'identita) is accepted for entry; a passport is also valid but not mandatory.

Q: Does the Schengen 90/180-day rule limit my stay?

No. The 90-days-in-180 limit applies to non-EU visitors. As an EU citizen you can stay without a time cap; you only need to register if you settle for more than three months.

Q: Do I need ETIAS to go to Portugal?

No visa. Italian citizens have full EU free-movement rights and can enter Portugal with just a valid national ID card or passport, with no time limit on a tourist stay. Italy and Portugal are both European Union member states and part of the Schengen Area, so an Italian ordinary-passport holder travels to Portugal under EU free-movement rights, not as a third-country tourist. No visa, eVisa, or ETIAS is required. You may enter with either a valid Italian national identity card (carta d'identita) or a valid passport. Because internal Schengen borders are normally check-free, there are usually no entry stamps and no 90/180-day short-stay cap that applies to non-EU visitors; an EU citizen may stay, work, study, or settle, with only a simple registration formality required if residence exceeds three months.
