Italy to Pakistan visa requirements

Italian passport holders need an online tourist e-Visa before traveling to Pakistan. The previous free visa-on-arrival was suspended on January 1, 2026. An Italian (IT) ordinary passport holder cannot enter Pakistan visa-free or with visa-on-arrival for tourism. Effective 1 January 2026, Pakistan suspended both its Visa on Arrival (VOA) and the free Visa Prior to Arrival (VPA) programs for citizens of 126 nationalities, including Italy and all EU member states. Italians must now apply in advance for a tourist e-Visa through the official Pakistan Online Visa System operated by NADRA (visa.nadra.gov.pk). The tourist e-Visa for EU/Italian nationals typically costs around USD 35 for a single-entry visa valid for 3 months with a stay of up to 90 days. Official processing is stated as 7-10 working days, though applicants are advised to apply 4-6 weeks ahead because times can stretch to around 20 business days. Pakistan is not in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply to entry into Pakistan. The application is fully online; a passport (valid 6+ months), a digital photo, accommodation/invitation evidence, and a travel itinerary are required, with payment by card. Travelers should apply only through the official government portal and avoid unofficial fee-charging intermediaries.
