Italy to Namibia visa requirements

Italian passport holders need a visa for Namibia as of 1 April 2025. You can get a Visa on Arrival (N$1,600) at all major ports of entry, but Namibia strongly recommends applying online for the Visa on Arrival / Holiday eVisa in advance via the official portal. Until 31 March 2025, Italian citizens enjoyed visa-free entry to Namibia. Effective 1 April 2025, Namibia withdrew visa-free access for 33 nationalities (including Italy and most of the EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia) citing the lack of reciprocal visa-waiver agreements for Namibian passport holders. Italian tourists must now hold a visa. Two equivalent channels exist: (1) Visa on Arrival (VoA), granted at Hosea Kutako and Walvis Bay international airports and at the main land border posts for N$1,600 (non-African nationals); and (2) an online Visa on Arrival / Holiday eVisa, applied for in advance through the official Ministry of Home Affairs e-Services portal (eservices.mhaiss.gov.na). The Namibian government strongly recommends applying online ahead of travel to avoid queues and complications at entry. The visa is for short tourist/business/family visits, normally granting up to 30 days from first entry (extendable to up to 90 days at the immigration officer's discretion). Namibia is in southern Africa and is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply.
