🇮🇹Italy🇧🇸The BahamasIT-BS Italy to The Bahamas visa requirements
Italian passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit the Bahamas for tourism. Italy is one of a small group of countries granted a privileged visa-free stay of up to 8 months. You only need a passport valid for at least 6 months, a return/onward ticket, and proof of funds and accommodation. An Italy (IT) ordinary passport holder enjoys visa-free entry to the Bahamas for tourism. While most EU citizens receive a 3-month visa-free stay, Italy is specifically listed (alongside Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Luxembourg and the Netherlands) among the countries whose nationals may stay visa-free for up to 8 months. No advance application, eVisa, or electronic travel authorization is required for the Bahamas itself. On arrival, travelers complete an Immigration Arrival Card and must satisfy a Bahamian immigration officer of the purpose and length of their visit. Entry conditions are a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry, a confirmed return or onward ticket, evidence of accommodation, and sufficient funds for the stay. The Bahamas levies no entry/visa fee; a departure tax (commonly around USD 29 per person plus other passenger fees) applies but is almost always already included in the price of an air ticket. Note: the Bahamas is NOT in the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and EU ETIAS do not apply to this route (ETIAS concerns travel INTO Europe, not the Bahamas). Always confirm current rules with the Bahamas Department of Immigration before departure, as overstaying can result in fines or entry bans.
