Italy to Benin visa requirements

Italian passport holders need an eVisa to visit Benin. Apply online at the official government portal (evisa.bj) before travel; there is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival option for tourists from Italy. Holders of an ordinary Italian passport require a visa to enter Benin for tourism, and Benin issues this as an electronic visa (eVisa) through its official government portal at evisa.bj. There is no visa-free access for ordinary Italian passport holders (only diplomatic and service passport holders enjoy a visa exemption of up to 90 days), and the historic visa-on-arrival counter has been replaced by the mandatory online eVisa system. Three eVisa products are offered: a 30-day single-entry visa (around EUR 50), a 30-day multiple-entry visa (around EUR 75), and a 90-day multiple-entry visa (around EUR 100). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and contain at least one blank page. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into Benin. Applications are processed quickly, typically within roughly 48 to 96 hours, but travellers are advised to apply at least 7 days before departure and no earlier than 90 days before the intended arrival date. The approved eVisa is sent by email and must be printed and presented at the border together with proof of accommodation, an onward or return ticket and proof of sufficient funds.
