Iceland to China visa requirements

Icelandic ordinary passport holders can visit mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days through 31 Dec 2026. As of 2026-06-29, Icelandic ordinary passport holders may enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 calendar days for business, tourism, visits to relatives or friends, exchange visits, or transit. China first applied the 30-day unilateral visa-free policy to Iceland from 30 November 2024, and the Chinese Embassy in Iceland says the policy is extended through 24:00 Beijing time on 31 December 2026. No visa application, consular declaration, or visa fee is required when the trip fits the policy, but Chinese border inspection may examine the purpose of stay and supporting documents such as invitation letters, air tickets, and accommodation reservations. Work, formal study, news reporting, non-ordinary travel documents, and stays over 30 days still require the appropriate visa or stay permit. For regular visas when needed, Iceland applicants use China's online visa application system and submit passports to the Chinese Embassy in Reykjavik; there is no Iceland CVASC submission channel represented by the Embassy.
