Do India passport holders need a visa to visit CZ?

Indian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Czechia for tourism. There is no visa-free entry or visa on arrival. Czechia (the Czech Republic) is a full member of the Schengen Area, so it does not issue its own national tourist visa for short visits — Indian travellers apply for a uniform Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa. Indian ordinary passport holders are NOT visa-exempt for the Schengen Area, so they must obtain this visa before travelling; there is no visa on arrival. A Czech Schengen visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period and allows travel throughout all 27 Schengen states. Applications are submitted through VFS Global on behalf of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in India, with biometrics (fingerprints + photo) collected in person. The visa fee is €90 for adults plus the VFS service charge. The much-discussed ETIAS travel authorisation (launching late 2026) does NOT apply to Indian nationals — it is only for visa-exempt travellers — so Indians continue to use the standard Schengen visa process. Travellers should apply well ahead of departure as peak-season processing can extend beyond the standard 15 days.
