Israel to New Caledonia visa requirements

Israeli ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for a short tourist trip to New Caledonia. They can enter visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. New Caledonia is a French overseas collectivity (sui generis) in the South Pacific. It is NOT part of the Schengen Area and has its own visa regime, so Schengen visas and ETIAS do not apply here. Israel is on France's short-stay visa-exemption list (the same Annex II list used for Schengen), and this exemption extends to New Caledonia. As a result, Israeli ordinary passport holders may enter New Caledonia visa-free for tourism and other short visits for a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period. No visa, eVisa, or ETA is required in advance. Travelers must hold a passport issued within the last 10 years and valid for at least three months beyond the planned departure date, with at least two blank pages. Although no visa is needed, border officials may ask visa-exempt visitors to show proof of sufficient funds, a return or onward ticket, accommodation details, and travel/medical insurance, which is effectively mandatory. Note that a visa-free entry to New Caledonia does NOT permit entry to mainland France or the Schengen Area; a separate Schengen authorization (and, from 2026, ETIAS) is required for those.
