Israel to Mauritania visa requirements

Israeli passport holders need an e-visa to visit Mauritania for tourism. There is no visa-free access and visa-on-arrival was abolished in January 2025, so you must apply online through the official ANRPTS portal before boarding your flight. As of mid-2026, ordinary Israeli passport holders cannot enter Mauritania visa-free. Mauritania's visa-free list covers only ten African neighbours (Algeria, Burkina Faso, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Libya, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Tunisia), and Israel is not among them. Since 5 January 2025 Mauritania has operated a mandatory electronic visa (e-Visa) system run by the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS). Visa-on-arrival is no longer issued, and as of June 2025 Mauritanian embassies stopped issuing visas, directing applicants to the online portal instead. All visa-required nationals, including Israelis, must obtain an approved e-Visa before boarding their flight. Applications are filed at anrpts.gov.mr with a scanned passport (valid 6+ months with a blank page), a 480x640 colour photo, and supporting travel documents. Processing typically takes a few business days. The standard tourist e-Visa is issued for a 30-day stay (durations of 30/90/360 days appear on the portal) and the fee, approximately USD 60, is paid in exact cash (euros or US dollars) on arrival once the QR-coded approval is presented. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers arriving from or transiting a yellow fever risk country. Travelers should apply at least one to two weeks before departure and verify the latest rules on the official ANRPTS site, as requirements can change without notice.
