Israel to Japan visa requirements

No visa required. Israeli ordinary passport holders can enter Japan visa-free for tourism and short visits for up to 90 days under a reciprocal visa-exemption arrangement. Israel is on Japan's reciprocal visa-exemption list for short-term stays, so Israeli ordinary passport holders do not need to apply for a visa before traveling to Japan for tourism, visiting family or friends, or short business meetings. On arrival, immigration grants a "Temporary Visitor" status of up to 90 days. No fee is charged and no application is filed in advance. Travelers must hold a passport valid for the duration of their stay (six months recommended), be able to show proof of onward or return travel, and demonstrate sufficient funds. Japan does not currently operate an ETA for visa-exempt nationals, but all arriving travelers are strongly encouraged to register on Visit Japan Web to speed up immigration and customs clearance. Note the 90-day stay cannot be extended for tourism, and entry is at the discretion of the immigration officer. This guidance reflects Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa-exemption policy and the Embassy of Japan in Israel as of 2026.
