Israel to Finland visa requirements

Israeli ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa to visit Finland for tourism. As a Schengen visa-exempt nationality, they may stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period. ETIAS travel authorization is not yet required (expected to launch in late 2026 and become mandatory only after a transition period in 2027). Finland is a member of the Schengen Area, and Israel is on the EU's list of visa-exempt third countries. An Israeli citizen holding an ordinary (biometric) passport can travel to Finland for tourism, business, family visits, or transit without obtaining a visa in advance, for short stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area (not just Finland). At the border, travelers must satisfy standard Schengen entry conditions: a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended departure (issued within the last 10 years), proof of sufficient funds, evidence of accommodation and onward/return travel, and a clear purpose of stay. The new European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) will eventually require visa-exempt travelers, including Israelis, to obtain an online travel authorization before departure. As of June 2026, ETIAS is in its final rollout phase: it is expected to start in the last quarter of 2026, followed by a transitional grace period, with mandatory enforcement projected for 2027. Until then, no ETIAS is needed. The 90/180 rule is cumulative across all Schengen states, so days spent in other Schengen countries count toward the same allowance. Stays beyond 90 days, or for work, study, or long-term residence, require a national long-stay (D) visa or residence permit obtained in advance from Finnish authorities.
