Israel to Cuba visa requirements

Israeli ordinary passport holders need a Cuba eVisa (tourist visa) before travel. The single-entry eVisa permits a tourist stay of up to 90 days and is applied for online at the official portal evisacuba.cu. The old paper Tourist Card is fully phased out as of January 2026, so the eVisa is now the only valid entry document. Cuba does not grant visa-free or visa-on-arrival entry to Israeli citizens. Israel is not on Cuba's short list of visa-exempt nationalities, so an Israeli ordinary passport holder must obtain a tourist eVisa before arrival. Cuba launched its electronic visa system in August 2024, initially running it in parallel with the long-standing paper Tarjeta del Turista (Tourist Card). From 1 January 2026 the Tourist Card was abolished and the eVisa became the sole accepted entry document for tourism. The eVisa is single-entry, allows a stay of up to 90 days (extendable in-country by a further 90 days at local immigration), and is generally valid for travel within 12 months of issue. The application is made online via the official government portal (evisacuba.cu), where the traveler completes a form, pays the fee, and uploads the payment receipt; processing typically completes within about 72 hours. Israelis should note that, beyond the visa, all visitors must hold a confirmed onward/return ticket, proof of valid travel medical insurance (checks are routine on arrival), and evidence of funds (commonly cited at around USD 50 per day). Travelers who have visited Cuba may face complications with the US ESTA/Visa Waiver Program, an important consideration for onward travel. Fees vary by the country/consulate of application; the commonly quoted equivalent is roughly EUR 22 (about USD 50 in the US market), plus any service fees if a third-party agent is used.
