Israel to Benin visa requirements

Israeli ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Benin for tourism. The short-lived visa-free arrangement (Sept 2022) was cancelled in March 2023, so Israelis must now apply online at the official portal evisa.bj before travel. The cheapest option, a 30-day single-entry tourist eVisa, costs EUR 50 and is usually approved within 96 hours. Benin requires most foreign nationals, including Israeli ordinary passport holders, to obtain an electronic visa (eVisa) before arrival. A brief reciprocal visa-waiver with Israel introduced in September 2022 was cancelled in March 2023, so visa-free entry is no longer available to Israeli travelers. The Benin eVisa is issued exclusively through the official Government of Benin portal at evisa.bj. Tourists choose from three tiers: 30-day single entry (EUR 50), 30-day multiple entry (EUR 75), and 90-day multiple entry (EUR 100). Applications require a passport valid at least six months with a blank page, a passport-style photo, and online card payment. Official processing is up to 96 hours, though applying at least a week ahead is recommended. Beware of numerous third-party intermediary sites that charge inflated service fees on top of the government rate; always use evisa.bj. Benin is in West Africa and is not part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for entry to Benin.
