Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit NO?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Norway for tourism. Apply through VFS Global before you travel. Norway is a Schengen member state. Holders of an Indonesian ordinary passport are NOT visa-exempt and must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C) tourist visa before travelling. The visa allows stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the whole Schengen area. Indonesia is not on the EU's visa-free list, so ETIAS (launching late 2026) does NOT apply — Indonesian travellers continue to need a full Schengen visa even after ETIAS goes live. Applications for Norway are lodged through the VFS Global visa application centre in Indonesia (Jakarta/Bali) on behalf of the Royal Norwegian Embassy. The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90 plus a VFS service fee of about EUR 20 (around IDR 380,000). Standard processing is about 15 calendar days but can extend to 45 days during busy periods, so apply well ahead — you may file up to 6 months before travel (and at least 15 days before). Diplomatic and service passport holders are exempt, but this guide covers the ordinary passport.
