Indonesia to Mauritania visa requirements

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Mauritania for tourism. Apply online via the official ANRPTS portal before travel; the visa fee (around EUR 55 / USD 60) is paid in cash on arrival. Mauritania is not in the Schengen area and grants no visa-free or visa-waiver access to Indonesian ordinary passport holders. Since 5 January 2025, Mauritania has operated a mandatory electronic visa (eVisa) system run by the National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS, anrpts.gov.mr). All visa-required nationals, including Indonesians, must obtain an eVisa approval online before boarding their flight; by mid-2025 Mauritanian embassies stopped issuing visas and now redirect applicants to the online portal. The traditional walk-up visa-on-arrival has effectively been superseded by this pre-travel eVisa requirement. A distinctive feature of the system is that no payment is taken online during the application; instead the visa fee (about EUR 55 / USD 60 for a 30-day tourist visa, or EUR 41 for Arab and African nationals) is collected in exact cash at the airport or land border on arrival, where the printed eVisa approval is presented. The tourist eVisa is single-entry, permits a stay of up to 30 days, and the approval document carries a broader validity window (commonly cited as 90 days) within which entry must occur. Processing has been running roughly 1-2 weeks in 2025, so travelers are advised to apply at least one month before departure. A passport valid for at least 6 months with a blank page is required. Travelers should apply only through the official anrpts.gov.mr portal and avoid third-party sites that add surcharges.
