Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit India?

Indonesian ordinary passport holders need an Indian e-Tourist Visa (eVisa), applied online before travel. Indonesia is on India's eligible list; there is no visa-free or visa-on-arrival option for tourism. India does not grant visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival to Indonesian ordinary passport holders for tourism. Indonesia is, however, among the 165+ eligible nationalities for India's electronic Tourist Visa (e-Tourist Visa / eTV), which must be applied for online through the official Bureau of Immigration portal before departure. Three tourist sub-categories exist: a 30-day double-entry visa, a 1-year multiple-entry visa, and a 5-year multiple-entry visa (the 1-year and 5-year options cap each stay at 180 days per calendar year). The e-Visa fee is country-specific on a reciprocal basis; for most nationalities including Indonesia the 30-day visa is around US$25 (July-March) or a discounted US$10 (April-June), the 1-year visa about US$40, and the 5-year visa about US$80, plus a 3% bank transaction surcharge. Applications must be lodged at least 4 days before arrival and may be filed up to 30 days ahead for the 30-day visa (120 days for longer visas). The Electronic Travel Authorisation is normally emailed within about 72 hours. Travelers must enter through one of the designated airports/seaports and carry a printout of the approved ETA. Always confirm the live fee and eligibility on the official portal before paying.
