Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit GR?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Greece for tourism. Apply in advance through the Greece Visa Application Centre in Jakarta before you travel. Greece is a full member of the Schengen Area, and Indonesia is NOT on the EU's visa-exempt list. As of 30 May 2026, an Indonesian ordinary passport holder must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Greece for tourism. ETIAS — the upcoming travel authorisation expected to launch in late 2026 — applies only to visa-exempt nationalities and does NOT apply to Indonesians; they will continue to need a full Schengen visa. Applications are lodged at the Greece Visa Application Centre in Jakarta, which collects documents on behalf of the Greek Embassy's Consular Office. The visa allows stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. Applicants must appear in person for biometrics (ten fingerprints and a digital photo), hold travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, and show proof of accommodation, return flights and sufficient funds. The consular fee is EUR 90 for adults plus an EUR 30 centre service fee; processing normally takes up to 15 calendar days but can extend to 45 days.
