🇮🇩INDONESIA🇫🇷FRANCE (SCHENGEN)ID-FR Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit France (Schengen)?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit France for tourism. Indonesia is NOT visa-exempt and is NOT eligible for ETIAS, so the visa must be obtained before departure. France is part of the Schengen Area, and Indonesia is on the list of countries whose nationals require a visa to enter. An Indonesian ordinary passport holder traveling to France for tourism must apply for a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before departure, normally through the official France-Visas portal with biometrics and document submission handled by VFS Global in Indonesia. The visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any rolling 180-day period across the whole Schengen Area. The standard adult visa fee is EUR 90 (reduced EUR 45 for children 6-12, free under 6), plus a VFS service charge. Because Indonesia is visa-required, it is NOT eligible for ETIAS — ETIAS only applies to nationalities that already travel visa-free to Schengen. Apply 3-4 weeks ahead (up to 6 months in advance), with proof of accommodation, return travel, sufficient funds, and travel insurance covering at least EUR 30,000.
