🇮🇩INDONESIA🇪🇸SPAIN (SCHENGEN)ID-ES Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit Spain (Schengen)?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders need a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa to visit Spain for tourism. Apply in advance through BLS International on behalf of the Spanish Embassy in Jakarta. Indonesia is not on the EU's visa-exempt list, so Indonesian ordinary passport holders must obtain a Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa before traveling to Spain. Spain is a full Schengen member, and the visa permits stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. Applications are lodged in person at a BLS International Spain Visa Application Centre (Jakarta, Surabaya, or Bali) acting for the Spanish Embassy, including biometric enrolment (fingerprints + photo) for applicants aged 12+ who have not given biometrics in the prior 59 months. The visa fee is EUR 90 plus a BLS service fee. Because Indonesia is visa-required, the visa-free ETIAS travel authorisation does NOT apply to Indonesian nationals; they continue to use the traditional Schengen visa. Note the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) became fully operational on 10 April 2026, replacing passport stamping with biometric border checks, but it does not change the visa requirement. Recommended documents include a valid passport (3+ months validity beyond departure, 2 blank pages), travel medical insurance covering at least EUR 30,000, confirmed accommodation, return flight reservation, proof of sufficient funds, and employment/financial evidence. Apply 3-6 weeks ahead; standard processing is around 15 working days but can extend.
