Do Indonesia passport holders need a visa to visit Brazil?
Indonesian ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist trips to Brazil. You may enter visa-free for up to 30 days per visit. Indonesia is on Brazil's visa-exemption list, so Indonesian ordinary passport holders can travel to Brazil for tourism without applying for any visa, eVisa or authorization in advance. The permitted visa-free stay for Indonesians is up to 30 days per entry (Brazil grants 90 days to many nationalities, but Indonesia is specifically capped at 30 days). This arrangement is reciprocal — Indonesia also grants 30-day visa-free entry to Brazilian citizens, a policy reaffirmed in July 2025. The new Brazil eVisa launched in April 2025 applies only to US, Canadian and Australian passport holders and does NOT affect Indonesians. To enter, you must show a passport valid for the duration of stay (six months' validity is strongly recommended), a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds (Brazil references roughly R$248 per day). The visa-free entry covers tourism, family visits and short business meetings only; it cannot be used for paid work and the stay cannot be extended or converted into another permit. Always confirm with the Brazilian Embassy in Jakarta before departure, as policies can change.
