Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit SO?

HK ordinary passport holders need an eVisa to visit Somalia. Since 1 September 2025, an approved electronic visa (eTAS) obtained online before departure is mandatory for nearly all foreign visitors. HK is not on Somalia's visa-free or visa-on-arrival lists. A Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) ordinary passport holder cannot enter Somalia visa-free or on arrival. Somalia launched a mandatory Electronic Visa / Travel Authorization System (eTAS) on 28 August 2025, in force from 1 September 2025, requiring every foreign visitor (with limited exemptions) to obtain an approved eVisa online before travel. Visa-free entry is limited to citizens of Rwanda and Malaysia, and visa-on-arrival is limited to citizens of a short list of African states; Hong Kong is not included in either category, so a HK traveler must apply for the eVisa. The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry, typically allows a 30-day stay, costs around US$65, and is processed in roughly 3-7 working days. Most non-Somali applicants must also nominate an approved sponsor organization and supply a sponsor letter (Letter of Guarantee / Warqad Dammaanad). The passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
