🇭🇰HONG KONG🇳🇿NEW ZEALANDHK-NZ Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit New Zealand?
Hong Kong SAR passport holders do not need a visa for tourism, but must obtain an NZeTA (electronic travel authority) before travel and pay the International Visitor Levy. Hong Kong is on New Zealand's visa-waiver list, but only for residents travelling on an HKSAR or British National (Overseas) passport. As a visa-waiver traveller you do not need a visitor visa for a tourist stay of up to 3 months, but since 1 October 2019 you must hold an approved NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) before boarding any flight or cruise to New Zealand. The NZeTA is requested online or via the official mobile app, costs NZD 23 (website) or NZD 17 (app), and is normally approved within 72 hours. When you apply you also pay the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) of NZD 100. The NZeTA is valid for up to 2 years and allows multiple visits of up to 3 months each. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure, and you must show proof of sufficient funds and onward travel.
