Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit MN?

Hong Kong SAR ordinary passport holders do NOT need a visa for tourist visits to Mongolia of up to 14 days. Just arrive with a passport valid at least 6 months beyond entry. As of 30 May 2026, holders of a Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) ordinary passport enjoy visa-free entry to Mongolia for short tourist or business visits of up to 14 days per stay. No visa, eVisa, or visa-on-arrival is required for this duration. This is confirmed by the Hong Kong Immigration Department's visa-free access list and Mongolia's published visa policy. Mongolia is NOT part of the Schengen area, so the Schengen 90/180 rule and ETIAS do not apply. Travelers must hold a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. The 14-day limit cannot be extended at the border for tourism; staying longer requires applying for a Mongolian visa in advance (Mongolia operates an eVisa system for nationalities/purposes that require a visa, but it is not needed for HKSAR passport holders making short tourist trips within 14 days). Note that the separate temporary 30-day visa-free program Mongolia extended to EU states, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and others (running through 31 December 2026) does not cover the HKSAR passport, which retains its standard 14-day visa-free allowance. Travelers should still confirm current rules with an official source shortly before departure, as policies can change.
