Do Hong Kong passport holders need a visa to visit Indonesia?

Visa-free. HKSAR ordinary passport holders can visit Indonesia for tourism for up to 30 days without a visa. Since 29 August 2024, under Indonesia's Presidential Regulation No. 95 of 2024, holders of Hong Kong SAR (HKSAR) ordinary passports enjoy visa-free entry to Indonesia for short visits including tourism. The permitted stay is up to 30 days from the date of entry. Critically, this 30-day visa-free stay is NON-extendable and cannot be converted into another stay permit while in Indonesia - travelers needing a longer stay must instead apply for a Visa on Arrival (e-VOA / B1) or an appropriate eVisa before or upon arrival. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. Note this exemption applies only to the HKSAR passport; BN(O) passport holders do NOT qualify and must obtain a visa. Since 1 October 2025, all arriving international travelers (including the visa-exempt) must complete the free "All Indonesia" customs/health digital declaration online within 3 days before arrival.
